Un nouveau périodique professionnel semble avoir fait son apparition : il s'agit du "Journal of Web Librarianship", la revue du bibliogeek ^^, et est proposé par l'éditeur Haworth Press qui propose déjà de nombreux autres titres professionnels anglo-américains comme "Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning", "Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries", "Journal of Electronic Resources in Law Libraries", "Journal of Access Services"...

Ce nouveau titre est destiné aux bibliothécaires en charges de produits numériques, de services de bibliothèques numérique et aux chercheurs qui réflechissent sur ces questions :

As the digital world for libraries quickly evolves, librarians need a dependable resource to find the latest and best information on how to fulfill their diverse roles and responsibilities within the virtual world. The Journal of Web Librarianship provides a needed forum for exploring the multidimensional applications of the Web in the library setting in the twenty-first century. This high quality quarterly journal presents peer-reviewed theoretical, research, and practical articles from leading experts related to Web librarianship in its many facets. Revues d'étudiants en LIS

Je suis tombé dernièrement sur ce billet de OA Librarian évoquant un revue étudiante professionnelle (cela fait-il antinomique ?) en Sciences de l'information.

The University of Buffalo Department of Library and Information Studies publishes a peer-reviewed open access journal, Library Student Journal.
The Library Student Journal site also features a blog, forum, and a new listserv for library students internationally.

Parallèlement, je parcourais le blog des étudiants de l'EBSI où ils évoquaient La Référence et Cursus, bulletins des étudiants de l'école et je me posais la question de l'opportunité d'une telle publication en France. Ecrire des articles professionnels, faire des comptes-rendus de leurs stages, partager l'avancée de leurs travaux mais également autoriser une certaine lattitude en permettant des prises de positions... bref, dépasser la publication courte et irrégulière des billets d'un blogs pour une vraie revue professionnelle, en open-access, à la manière d'une BiblioAcid en quelque sorte.

A l'heure où les biblioblogueurs francophones (et en l'occurence français il me semble) tentent d'organiser un tant soi peu leurs initiatives à travers un BiblioCamp, il peut sembler étrange de revenir à l'idée de la publication d'une revue électronique mais je ne trouve finalement pas. Blog et revue n'ont pas les mêmes exigences, les mêmes contenus ni les mêmes processus de validation. Et je trouverais particulièrement intéressant que les étudiants en Sciences de l'information partagent et diffusent leurs réflexions avec la communauté professionnelle par ce biais également.

Digital Humanities

Pour faire écho à ce billet paru dans Blogofil, The Alliance of Digital Humanities organization [la version française du site semble n'avoir pas été mise à jour depuis 2003], composée de The Association for Literary and Linguistic Computing (ALLC), The Association for Computers in the Humanities (ACH) et Consortium for Computers in the Humanities. Elle veut mettre en valeur et développer l'utilisation de l'information dans les recherches dans les domaines des Sciences humaines.

Pour ce faire, elle est à l'origine de publications (Revues avec comité de lecture (ex : DHQ), ouvrages et séries (ex : Companion to Digital Humanities), Communications de conférences, guide des bonnes pratiques). Elle recence également les différents conférences et colloques organisées sur le thème. Ainsi, Digital Humanities 2006 s'est tenue en juillet dernier, à la Sorbonne tandis que la session 2007 se déroulera à l'Université d'Illinois. Enfin, vous trouverez des liens vers différentes ressources :
